Profile of Ramesh Rao
Mr Ramesh Rao holds a degree in engineering as well as in Finance and an MBA in Strategic Finance & Supply chain. He also is a certified Lean Leader, a certified Master Black Belt in Six Sigma & a certified Supply Chain Specialist and comes with 26 years of leadership level hands-on experience in organizations such as Product design, Process Engineering, Industrial automation, Quality Management system, Industrial Engineering, Operations & Finance. He gained immense experience working across multiple industries such as Consumer Electronics, Industrial Consumables, Electronic Manufacturing, Semiconductors across 3 continents.
As Operations director, using lean methodology, the facilitator successfully transformed 5 business units (with a total of 4500 employees & 2500 SKUs) across 3 countries resulting in contribution of USD 100 M positive cash flow. He last held the position of Group Finance Controller (CFO) for a leading US MNC responsible for Assembly & Test business unit managing USD 500 M that encompasses 3 factories, R&D, outsource management & Product Lines. With hands on leadership, he was responsible for permanent improvement of 3% profit using Lean methodology as well as other business excellence initiatives.
Currently the facilitator runs business and management consulting company helping SMEs, hospitality industry, health care industries in improving their revenue, cost & profit.
